We believe that church planting is the most effective way to evangelize the lost. The Assemblies of God, from its beginnings, has been a church planting movement. In 2009, the Assemblies of God planted 266 new churches. That’s an average of one new church opening every 1.25 days. Below you’ll find a list of the top 10 planting districts for 2009.

Ok. I am making a prediction. New York State MUST be in the Top 10 in 2010. Largest Metro area in the US - NYC. Let’s give the devil a NY black eye this year! Come on planters - feel the call to NY.

I am curious if the top 10 church planting districts are based on number of churches or percentage of growth. Personally I think that a district half the size of North Texas (or any larger district) should be compared by percentage and not just numerically. And there are several districts half the size of others. Just a thought.

Way to go Northwest. Seems that Seattle and the surrounding cities are realizing this place needs more churches that connect to the unbelievers. It has been a blast to see how many have come from our community where 80,000 don’t attend church with in a 5 mile ping. Let’s plant aggressively and reach our cities no matter what network we are in. Proud of all of you!
